How is a storyboard defined? A storyboard is a sequence if images, much like a large comic strip that depicts scenes in an animated feature or a film. These images are drawn to depict individual scenes in a feature and identify strengths and weaknesses, movements, and sequences of events.
When was the term storyboard defined? Storyboards came into use at Walt Disney Studios in the 1930’s originally. These were first used in animated features but have gradually found their niche in feature films, presentations, and even in computer software development.
Storyboards define the events that are going to occur in a sequence, identify motion or change, and help to schedule and revise plans for films or presentations. This is usually the first step after defining the general story line of a production before any filming begins to avoid costly retakes.
